An absolutely essential piece of Peruvian chicha history! This was the debut album by Chacalón, one of the genre's most iconic and revered voices, combining psychedelic electric guitars and tropical percussion with the influence of traditional Andean huayno.

But Chacalón was far more than just another great singer. His songs spoke directly to Peru's working-class migrants who had left rural areas for Lima and other cities in search of work and a better life, turning him into a genuine cult figure among communities rarely represented in mainstream Peruvian music. Musically it's the good stuff too: raw, hypnotic cumbia rhythms, wonderfully distorted guitars and that unmistakable psychedelic chicha sound.

Vampisoul's 2026 reissue restores the original Discos Horóscopo artwork and includes liner notes by chicha expert Víctor Zela of "La Cumbia De Mis Viejos". A proper cornerstone of Peruvian psychedelic cumbia!
