Here they come again: the fabulous Yeye-group LES KITSCHENETTES with another great piece of vinyl that takes you right back to the stylish France of the Sixties. Six incredible new tunes of French Freakbeat are just waiting to be played loudly and danced to at your groovy Sixties-parties! The 10' '2e Etage: Lingerie Pour Hommes' is the second of a series of three 10's in coloured vinyl the first one was pressed on red vinyl, this one in blue vinyl and the upcoming one by the band will be released on white vinyl, altogether forming the colours of the French flag. It consists of coverversions of well-chosen nuggets from the 60s all of which the band interpret with their usual dose of melodic organ, a shakin' beat, a hint of sax and flute, fuzz riffs, a stylophone and brilliantly elegant female as well as male vocals - just like we know and love these five lads and the lovely lady from the Normandie. Side A starts with a fantastic interpretation of Les Incorrigibles 'J'ai l'air de quoi', introducing the record with a wild garage-beat tune with a crazy organ. Then comes a coverversion of Les Missiles' 'Ne pense plus a lui', another catchy tune. The slightly bizarre 'L'Ascenseur' adds some more fun to the record and this time Mademoiselle Lucille charms you not only in French but also in Italian with a powerful coverversion of Rita Pavone's 'Il Geghege'. Thereafter Monsieur Ludo sings his version of Les Gaelic 'Garder Les Cheveux Longs', another danceable garage beat-song, and in their version of Serge Gainsbourg's 'Mr William' he and Mademoiselle Lucille complement each other perfectly, almost like Gainsbourg and his girls did back then. If you like French 60s Garage-Beat, this 10' is a must. LES KITSCHENETTES are surely one of today's best Yeye/Freakbeat-bands that one simply cannot get enough from.
